Senior Director IT Cloud & Applications

You will be part of a global IT leadership team to steer multiple IT engineering teams in the domain of Cloud Engineering, Operations and Enterprise Applications.
This position plays a key role in enabling the business with a vast range of technology solutions, in collaboration with the remaining IT teams and the global Lionbridge organization.

What You Will Do

• Work as the head of the IT Cloud & Applications pillar of IT as well as the manager of the IT Cloud Engineering team, which is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and monitoring all cloud-native infrastructure in Lionbridge.
• Oversee vision, strategy and governance for cloud-native infrastructure which supports the implementation of technology systems in Lionbridge.
• Manage a global group of team leaders in the IT Cloud & Applications pillar as well as a global team of cloud engineers, mentoring them, training them, growing them, and helping them building their expertise.
• Develop, document, and drive best practices in this area of domain.
• Collaborate with other IT teams as well as R&D teams to design the best possible cloud architecture for each application or service.
• Keeping the Lionbridge infrastructure and services within your area of domain up and running with a five-nines philosophy, contributing to building automated monitoring and alerting for high-availability emergency response processes.
• Monitoring and optimizing infrastructure, subscription/licensing, and technology costs on a monthly basis within your area of domain.
• Plan and manage the budget for your organizational structure.

To Be Successful You Will Have

• Leadership ease over technical engineering teams, including performance management, budget planning and general management duties.
• Great communication skills and collaboration / business partnering with other organizational units.
• Running Agile methodologies in a mixed support + project task ecosystem.
• Solid experience with architecture and implementation of cloud-native resources in public cloud platforms – Azure, AWS, GCP.
• Solid understanding of networking, infrastructure, and cybersecurity concepts.
• Solid understanding of virtualization solutions – hypervisors and containers – as well as various operating system flavors.
• Driven, focused self-starter with a team-based attitude.
• The ability to quickly debug a variety of problems during emergency situations.
• Expertise in problem solving and debugging complex systems.
• Patient, flexible attitude, ability to perform under pressure.
• A commitment to quality and a thorough approach to the work.
