Position: Freelance Gaming Translators – Chinese/Mandarin into Japanese

Position Overview: As Gaming Translator, you will be the voice of the client’s vision to ensure the customer’s local market consumers receive the highest experience. Based on your experience, in addition to the translation task, you will have an opportunity to perform a variety of tasks related to Language Quality of the gaming localization projects, from Source Text Analysis to Final Quality Assurance.

What You Will Do:

- Translate, proofread, and edit localized gaming content, ensuring cultural appropriateness from Chinese/Mandarin into Japanese.
- Ensure close alignment with the client’s marketing and brand vision.
- Work closely with the global quality and language teams to ensure the customer’s quality threshold is met.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and changing priorities.
- Focus on timely deliveries, high quality, consistency, and compliance with the quality standards.

To Be Successful You Will:

- Professional experience in gaming translation or related fields is desired.
- Native fluency in Japanese as a target language and near native level of Chinese (Simplified)/Mandarin to be able to understand the source text.
- Basic Knowledge of Translation / Localization Processes, Translation Memory tools, Terminology management processes and computer-assisted translation software.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and implement plans.
- Pass Lionbridge standard recruitment test.
