Lionbridge (UK) Ltd are looking for a Technical Lead, to join their team of Technical Authors, to be based in Bristol.

  • The Technical Lead is the assigned Projects technical focus of expert knowledge and support is the ultimate arbiter of all training, technical and process issues, for both external and internal teams, including Team Leads, QA and Senior Authors, Technical and Trainee Authors.
  • Is the Subject Matter Expert for issues relating to Technical Data Production on the assigned Project.
  • Is the focal point for all source data and definition queries on the assigned Project.
  • Is the technical focus for all technical decisions, arbitrating between Team Leaders and PMs as required

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Customer Relationships: Manages the customer technical relationship and serves as a day-to day Technical/Quality point-of-contact.
  • Schedule Management: Helps the Project Manager and Team Lead to develop and maintain project schedules to achieve on time deliveries in line with contractual KPI's.
  • Communication Management: Implements a communication plan with the Project Manager for the project, including external and internal reporting.
  • Risk Management: Identifies project risks and manages, mitigates or escalates as appropriate.
  • International travel: <20% - Europe and India,
  • Definition: Works with the Team Lead to ensure that task assessment activities are resourced.
  • Creation: Authoring of new and revised technical documentation compliant with data creation process, guidelines, style guides and best practice
  • Culture: Delivery of 'Right First Time' ethos.
  • Process Improvement: Drives continuous improvements in process and efficiency across the whole assigned project and associated teams Works with all stakeholders internally to share best practice.
  • People: Subject Matter Expert who continuously improves staff capability and knowledge.

Accountability
  • Maintains process and quality levels in line with contractual and ISO Standards.
  • Maintains all project records for reporting and audit purposes.
  • Monitors project risks.
  • Hits Milestones and delivers KPI's
  • Works with Line Manager to ensure personal development to meet individual objectives

Qualifications/skills
  • Project leading experience, preferably in a Service Provision, Technical Documentation environment or within the Engineering and Aerospace industry.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Proven Technical Authoring/IQC skills.
  • Must be familiar with email and internet communications.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good People Management skills: team building, conflict resolution.
  • Adaptable with a proactive approach to work.
  • Resourceful, confident and able to take the initiative.
