IT Senior Network Engineer

The IT Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the Architecture & Design, Implementation, and Production Support of the Lionbridge enterprise network spanning 33 offices globally and supporting over 6000 employees.  

The ideal candidate will possess both excellent communications and hands on technical skills.  The candidate must be comfortable working independently as well as leading small projects and collaborating with other team members on infrastructure design and troubleshooting activities.   

Responsibilities:

Architecture & Design

• All networking infrastructure & technologies including; routing, switching, firewalls, load balancing, security, network management, customer / enterprise VPNs
• Keep up with industry technologies, identify and advocate solutions for continuous improvement
• Implement technologies, reporting, and process standards to optimize operational efficiency, availability, and performance
• Collaborate with the Global Technology organization to deliver and support internal and customer facing applications
• Work with business stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Manage projects initiatives, create project and implementation plans. Coordinate internal and external project resources as needed
• Create and maintain processes and documentation for incident and problem management
• Daily management and prioritization of project initiatives with production operational workloads
• Routine reporting of operational and project status

Production Operations

• Proactive monitoring of all network infrastructure
• Supervise resolution of production outages
• Perform routine network administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Provide escalation level support for the global network infrastructure
• Participate on project teams and provide network infrastructure services to other IT teams
• Create required documentation and follow change management processes
• Create and maintain detailed network infrastructure diagram and documentation
• Provide after hours on-call support as needed

Requirements:

• 7 + years progressive experience as a network engineer or related discipline
• Knowledge of enterprise networking technologies; communication protocols, routing protocols, switching, firewalls, load balancing, 
• Must be hands on, with advanced troubleshooting and technical skills
• Hands on experience with Cisco network infrastructure and Checkpoint firewalls required and  F5 Load Balancers preferred
• IaaS / PaaS service utilizing Azure and/or AWS preferred
• Experience supporting a mixed Linux & Windows Server environment with a working knowledge of Windows Active Directory and related technologies
• Must possess excellent technical written and verbal communications skills

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience in related field
