The
Director of Language AI holds the senior responsibility for the Language Excellence function within the Tech Vertical Line of Business. This position plays a vital role in shaping Lionbridge evolving strategies around an AI led LSP from developing new services, their delivery and continuous improvement, to winning and delighting our Strategic and Global customers.
This role is a Language SME, acting as the voice of Lionbridge across all Language and AI services, requiring extensive language expertise and experience. Extensive LLM expertise and hands-on experience working with different models, would be also required.
In addition, this role will direct and lead the Language AI team, including responsibility for high-level customer presentations and leadership of the global Language AI team, working closely with key internal and external stakeholders.
What You Will Do
- Own and drive end-to-end Language Quality across all programs, including defining, governing, and communicating quality standards externally to our customers.
- Lead and oversee the Language Excellence organization, developing and executing strategies tailored to the needs of Strategic and Global customers.
- Act as Lionbridge's senior Language and AI Subject Matter Expert, representing the company as the authoritative voice on language services, AI, and LLM-enabled solutions.
- Direct and inspire the global Language AI team, providing leadership, coaching, and strategic guidance across regions and functions.
- Deliver and lead high-level customer engagements, including executive presentations, strategic discussions, and value-driven solution positioning.
- Partner closely with cross-functional internal teams (Technology, Product, Sales, Operations, Community, and AI) to align priorities and achieve shared business objectives.
- Monitor, analyze, and own key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
- Guide the evolution of Language Services, processes, and operating models, ensuring the Language Excellence perspective is represented, heard, and embedded in decision-making.
- Drive the onboarding and integration of new global providers, enabling innovative technical solutions and supporting emerging technologies such as Generative AI.
- Support the ongoing transformation toward an AI-led LSP, contributing to service innovation, delivery optimization, and customer success.
To Be Successful You Will Have
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Language Management or related role.
- Extensive expertise in AI technologies and Large Language Models (LLMs), with a strong understanding of their business applications.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, including the ability to confidently lead and drive customer meetings and presentations.
- Strong leadership capabilities combined with strategic thinking and planning skills.
- A high level of customer focus, with the ability to understand, anticipate, and respond effectively to customer needs.
- Proven team management and development experience, ideally within a matrix organizational structure and across remote or distributed teams.
- Very strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken, including emails, status reports, conference calls, and customer proposals.
- Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Demonstrated experience and willingness to act as a collaborative partner and trusted stakeholder.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.
- A self-motivated, proactive attitude with a positive "can-do" mindset.
