Onboarding process
Onboarding with Lionbridge OPI is quick and easy! A recruiter will review your registration and contact you to navigate the steps below when there is a need for your language combination, and if your profile meets the job criteria. If you were not contacted right away, don't worry! Our needs are always changing. We will reach out to you soon!
REGISTER WITH LIONBRIDGE
Once you have completed your web registration with us, our Recruitment team will review your profile and contact you when the need for your language skills arises.
REQUIREMENTS
Monday-Friday availability
Strong internet Connection
Spoken fluency in English
Legal working permit in the country you are applying from
WHAT TO EXPECT?
When your language skills are needed, a Recruiter will contact you with additional information.
SCREENING CALL WITH RECRUITER
You will meet with your Recruiter by phone to provide you the details of the opportunity and allow you to ask any questions you may have.

WHAT TO EXPECT?
Your Recruiter will assess your experience and English fluency, explain the offer, and address any questions or concerns you may have about the opportunity.
LANGUAGE ASSESSMENT
All of our professional Interpreters are certified through an online language assessment to ensure the highest quality of interpretation to our customers.

WHAT TO EXPECT?
45-Minute assessment, both in English and your source language, featuring sight translation and consecutive interpretation exercises.
TRAINING FOR SUCCESS
We want to prepare you for success! You will be provided a series of trainings and briefings to complete to ensure you are fully supported and prepared to deliver the best over-the-phone interpretation service to our customers! Additionally, you will be asked to review and sign a series of e-documents to comply with all security standards.

GETTING STARTED
Welcome to the OPI freelance interpretation team!
You will receive an email with further instructions once all your onboarding materials have been reviewed and approved. At this point you are officially a Lionbridge qualified Over-the-Phone Interpreter and can start servicing our calls!
