Working Student - Language Coordinator (German) (m/f/d) - part-time temporary contract

Lionbridge Gaming (localization, audio and testing services) is looking for a Work Student (m/f/d) for its German Language team, with a strong passion for gaming and language. The position will be on a 20h/week basis in our office in Berlin. Work from home will be possible and even required during the ongoing pandemic situation.

Responsibilities:

• Translation, proofreading, and adaptation of video game content from English into German, including in-game texts (subtitles, UI, tutorials) and marketing (store descriptions, press releases, social media).

• Quality assurance processes, including bugfix implementation, glossary harmonization, spellchecks etc.

Requirements:

• Native speaker of German as well as an excellent command of the English language (source language of texts) is essential
• A passion for video games
• Ongoing BA or MA studies in a relevant field (translation studies, linguistics, cultural studies, etc.)

• Experience in using CAT software, ideally memoQ

• An excellent eye for detail and strong communication skills, both written and oral

• Good organizational and time management skills

• Flexible and proactive approach to tackling tasks

• Eager to learn and become proficient in new tools
