The Test Director Lionbridge Gaming, Americas is responsible for overseeing all testing and test engineering delivery for the Lionbridge Gaming testing teams in the Americas. It's your job to be an active partner in a global test leadership team spanning several global geographies, developing and implementing standards and best practices that unify our test execution such that partners experience the same working culture, mechanics and results from one delivery region to the next. The Test Director will need to leverage their experience and tenure in the industry to drive home a culture of game testing that makes sense for AAA game developers and publishers alike, all the while maintaining an industry leading, customer focused, highly successful and all-around kick-ass test team that today's best and brightest game makers seek out. The Test Director role will be based at our Bellevue office.

  • Lead and manage a growing games test organization, contributing to operational design and efficiency including delivery quality, cost controls, invoicing and revenue reporting
  • Maintain a culture of industry excellence, where games are essential, the customer comes first and where questions, proactivity, transparency constructive feedback are not only desired, but required and rewarded
  • Contribute to organizational design and take an active role in career development of all personnel, maintaining attrition targets and increased retention of key resources
  • Help develop and implement an incentive based training/levelling framework for your testers, growing their capabilities and extending the life-time of their careers with Lionbridge
  • Contribute to and oversee a technology plan that ensures cost effective repeatability, quality and performance, which promotes sound design and appropriate innovation
  • Assure the test team is using available telemetry to guide the current testing focus from project to project, improving test coverage, and assuring the team's delivery is accurate, consistent and timely
  • Stay abreast of current testing techniques and methodologies, piloting and implementing what makes logical sense and educating/training your team accordingly
  • Contribute to long range planning comprised of continuous improvement initiatives and measurement thereof
  • Ensure exemplary defect reporting management across the team
  • Provide technical leadership and support for sales efforts such as P&L development, contract reviews, and solution ideation and grounding
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of test strategies and plans for all game projects
  • Own, maintain and help grow a useful hardware library, focused on a combination of next, current and last generation consoles, PCs and devices.
  • Aid in critical issue investigation, clearly explaining root causes and ensuring effective implementation

  • The ability to conceive and execute creative solutions to senior or executive level problems
  • An intimate and practiced knowledge of software testing methodologies, procedures and the development lifecycle
  • Experience developing test strategies and plans for complex software products
  • Experience with structured test processes as well as exploratory testing techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • English language fluency

Preferred Experience
  • University degree in a game related major (e.g. Programming, Design) or Computer Science / Computer Engineering
  • 4+ years' experience leading testing of multiple games, released across diverse platforms
  • Experience leading and developing teams of 50 or more
  • Experience or training with artificial intelligence related to gaming
  • Experience with automation frameworks, tools and scripting
  • A practical knowledge of at least game engine (e.g. Unreal, Unity, Frostbite) and related technologies and scripting languages (e.g. Lua, Python, Ruby)
  • Exposure to web services and related security, interdependence, capacity, monitoring and BCP testing
