Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the strategic planning, management and improvement of Lionbridge's customer-facing websites and applications, community-facing applications, and internal applications. You will own and develop the vision for digital touchpoint, set the user experience standards, and provide direction for committed and talented multi-disciplinary teams across the organization. You will champion a user-focused culture, and you will be responsible for ensuring excellence in Lionbridge's customer and community journeys.


This role requires excellent interpersonal and influencing skills in order to be the voice of best practice in user experience. There is significant contact with senior staff across multiple departments, locations, and cultures. You will need to prioritize conflicting requests and priorities, achieving this by ensuring initiatives align with Lionbridge's strategic objectives and the needs of our audiences.

On a day to day basis, you will:

• Recruit, build and develop an extraordinary design team

• Craft product vision, strategy and execution together with your team and partners from across the company; such as Engineering, Product Management, Community Management, and Operations

• Guide your team in identifying and solving product problems large and small, ensuring disciplines work seamlessly together

• Help your team operate in an ever-changing, global environment by setting context, being the voice for our users and clearing the path for them to have impact

• Drive and support cross-team initiatives that make the User Experience practice at the company


• 10+ years experience working in a fast-moving, international environment solving problems at scale

• Bring proven experience building and leading high-performing user research, product design, and mobile design teams consisting of at least 5 people

• Have a track record establishing great relationships and working with other disciplines, such as product management and engineering

• Be an excellent communicator - whether it's about people or product, you bring a positive energy into any conversation you're in and are Aable to get those around you excited around a shared purpose

• Be a thoughtful, empathetic, humble mentor and coach. You care about your colleagues, helping them overcome challenges, and helping nurture the future leaders of the design organization.

• Have a full understanding of how to apply the methodologies of interaction design and research to business problems. And have examples to communicate and showcase this.
• Demonstrate proficiency with design and prototyping tools for rapid, iterative prototyping.
