Experience in reporting test results/observations and adhering to process requirements is required. Selected individual will have proven track record of quality improvement and process control throughout area of responsibility. Must be detail oriented and self-managing.

Job requirements/ tasks:
  • Able to follow instructions-AND if the instructions don't make sense, then they cannot be afraid to ask questions.
  • Able to pay attention to the details. When something odd happens or differs from expected behavior, they need to stop and take the time to document what happened. Also there are minor points in all testing like making sure the right pen is in the right printer with the right ink with the right paper. If any one of those details is off the test results are invalid.
  • Initiative-Be proactive, find work to do when it is slow like organizing, cleaning, preparing. Not waiting for someone to tell them what to do. Work to always produce high quality results. This means, if you see something that's not right, take ownership to resolve it, report it, etc.
  • Ability to stand in customers' shoes and highlight what could be a dis-satisfier instead of keeping the work going.
  • Ability to be flexible as well as to be able to accept constant change in test procedures especially during issues escalations when new requests for special tasks keep coming (very often daily).
  • Ability to read and respond to process control chart data.
  • Ability to communicate if things aren't going right. Don't just sit there waiting for someone to come by and ask why the task isn't done.
  • Ability to summarize events - what happened? And what was significant about that? Record clearly in some form that can be reviewed (email, clearly written note, etc).
  • Ability to tabulate and organize information clearly.
  • Ability to communicate gaps/waits in tasks immediately so that they can be addressed. Avoid the "I was waiting for X so I could do Y," several days after the fact.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to communicate to a wide range of audiences (engineers, technicians, managers etc)
  • Basic - Intermediate Excel Skills
  • Able to run gradebook data queries in JMP or Excel and then update dashboards as necessary.
  • Ability to interpret a task for intention, rather than only verbatim.
  • Understanding the difference between intention and the letter of the law.
  • Manage and prioritize your tasks by understanding clearly what is on your plate, and having a discussion with requestors about what may need to be shifted.
  • Good prioritization skills
  • Being a systematic thinker with strong troubleshooting skills is very valuable in this position. Good troubleshooting logic allows this person to be very effective at helping determine the failure mode.
  • Understanding how our print systems work is a big benefit when troubleshooting a failure. Having a solid knowledge that allows for this person to be able to determine the "is" and "is not" aspects of a failure is valuable.
  • Able to manipulate data in excel and do data base queries.
  • Ability to accurately report your findings via failure analysis reports so it is critical that this person have good writing skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and be productive
  • Basic script writing development.
  • Planning and scheduling technical activities
  • Able to manage complex assignment.
  • Able to recommend or assist in developing solutions
