Job Description

Lionbridge Games (LG) is a leading provider of world-class functional testing, loc testing, translation, globalization, Audio production and post-production as well as player experience services to AAA game publishers, and game developers and platform holders As part of its expansion in the US, Lionbridge Games plans is growing its Boise studio and is looking for a Studio Head to lead this fast growing studio.

This newly created leadership role is responsible for Lionbridge Games delivery out of Boise, Idaho ensuring that all operational and site-related matters are properly managed and executed, while supporting delivery teams in charge of testing and customer support. Your test team leaders will ensure delivery of testing according to client KPIS and schedules. Your role will be to support them and organize all functions for success.

You will be responsible for ensuring the Boise studio is maintained according to Lionbridge standards and showcases Lionbridge and Lionbridge Games cultures; you will support all functions such as HR, Finance, Recruitment, Real Estate, Treasury, etc. in the execution of their duties. You will also own the Lionbridge Games P&L in Boise, support the Sales and the Solutions teams whenever required to support the expansion of our business in that critical market, support all operational teams in their delivery of the required staffing, CSAT and margin levels.

Additional key aspects of the position include - but are not limited to - driving continuous measure improvement in program deliverables including the gathering, use, and analysis of content BI data; support the customer communication cadence when need, such as operational business reviews; understanding of customer intent to build out the necessary new capabilities; support the roll- out of new tools and processes to increase quality and efficiencies; and overall P&L management as described above.

This is a job that requires you to be a manager of department leads. You need to possess effective and strong management skills, a positive team-oriented approach, and strong leadership and organizational skills. Travel, including international travel, will be required when possible

Responsibilities
  • Manage the Boise studio to deliver excellent service to our customers
  • Support functional teams in their duties as required
  • Participate in the hiring of and support ad the testing/localization/audio teams/player-experience delivery teams and their regional leaders in all project delivery
  • Coordinate closely with the global leaders for Test and Player Experience to ensure you are meeting their needs, standards, and deliverable quality metrics
  • Act as primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and clients regarding the Boise studio site, resources, P&L, deliverables
  • Lead, coach, and develop staff as necessary; and create job descriptions and attract new team members, which meet our high standards and fall within your P&L budget
  • Support Sales in hitting the revenue targets assigned to the region
  • Monitor CSAT scores and take the necessary corrective actions in collaboration with regional and global delivery leaders
  • Monitor all risks and key-blocking issues in your site and take the necessary corrective actions to ensure on-time quality delivery to our clients
  • As necessary, act as the escalation point, being responsible for arbitration and managing / resolving any issues that arise either within the organization or with the customer.
  • Prepare a detailed report of key KPIs and activities to Lionbridge Games for the site as required
  • Supervise the site forecast and participate in the various budget planning phases to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Drive the adaption of new Lionbridge-overall, and Lionbridge-Games specific, tools and process for testing
  • Lead and motivate your delivery teams to ensure optimal results will be delivered on the programs
  • Ensure your teams effectively interface with client stakeholders; forge strong relationship with the customer interfaces; and understand the client team dynamic, their business goals, priorities and challenges
  • Participate in planning efforts (collect project scope and other project specs that may impact the costs) as needed
  • Ensure all projects managed by your teams adhere to our Lionbridge Games best practices, and are of high quality delivered in the most cost-effective manner
  • Ensure your teams track/report key program deliverables - performance, quality and financial indicators.
  • Work with your teams and global delivery partners to develop and refine consistent working methodologies and procedures around the program.
  • Assist in budget and strategic planning, and SLA compliance, driving quality and innovation, with respect to understanding volume forecasts, program growth and overall program planning.
  • Help your teams develop and manage effective communications with our customer - focusing on key performance deliverables and program development activities.
  • Partner with community management to make sure your site has the necessary suppliers to deliver on our growth
  • Work with your teams to ensure ongoing process/system capability associated with projects and manages any changes required to meet or exceed the expectations established in project designs

Essential Attributes
  • Proven track record of successfully running a business site
  • Ability to lead autonomously while demonstrating the necessary team playing mentality combined with a passion for, and experience with, games across a myriad of platforms as well as the gaming industry
  • Strong knowledge of, or ability to rapidly learn, testing, localization, and audio requirements as well as the processes and tools
  • Knowledge of strong site-management practices, testing, program management, localization, and audio processes in the game development lifecycle
  • A passion for customers and long-term partnership
  • Proven reporting, financial, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience leading teams and managing a process-oriented business
  • A strong and demonstrated drive for results and ability to work independently
  • Established leadership experience and a passion for growing diverse teams of professionals
  • Experience with talent evaluation of individual contributors
  • The ability to conceive and execute creative solutions to senior or executive level problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and English language fluency

Preferred Experience
  • Demonstrated leadership enabling teams to provide world-class delivery for Fortune 1000 customers
  • University degree in a major related to language, game development, or program management
  • Experience managing managers
  • Deep knowledge of the global Video Games business (operations, technologies, business models, industry structure), and passion for games and/or the entertainment industry
  • 3-5 years of Project Management/Leadership, preferably in an international environment
  • Experience leading teams in the video game business
  • Exposure to audio-engineering, BI analytics, and video-game functional/localization testing
  • Experience building ROI and cost justifications for executive level presentation
  • Proven reporting, financial, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in managing financial deliverables - budgeting, variance analysis, forecasting and profitability reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes/procedures, contributing value to existing projects.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and management skills,
  • Experience working with contracts, purchase orders, and payment systems
  • Strong communication skills-both written and oral with technical and non-technical staff
  • Strong team-building skills
  • Ability to drive cross-group problem solving, customer advocacy, and ability to apply creative / critical thinking and solution-mindedness in a dynamic-working environment
