Repair & Maintenance Technician

The main responsibility of the Repair and Maintenance Technician is to keep the test equipment running in top condition. A background in mechanical as well as electronic repair is needed to be able to troubleshoot the wide variety of repair issues that will come your way. The test equipment is used and needed on a daily basis for approximately 16-24 hours a day so regularly maintaining and keeping a maintenance schedule of equipment is imperative. It is helpful if someone has knowledge of a test environment to understand the calibration and precision which this equipment needs to run. A manufacturing or production background is very helpful as well.

What You Will Do

  • Owns set-up, execution and verification of test, equipment and process in support of area assigned.
  • Monitor output to confirm problems are found and fixed.
  • Fabricating and machining replacement and enhancement parts as needed.
  • Ensure accurate entry of defects in database and other appropriate formats/systems.
  • Follow security, safety and testing procedures to ensure operational excellence.
  • Act as a second level responder to defects and issues on testing or equipment.
  • Provide technical and process support across assigned area.
  • Drives continuous process improvements for assigned work area.
  • Perform, maintain and set up computer systems to control equipment according to specified configuration requirements for both hardware and software.
  • First responder for troubleshooting computer setups and tool issues.
  • Communicates tool, equipment and process issues appropriately.
  • Act as tool expert in work centers as trained and be primary trainer on one or more tools as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Responsible for standard maintenance and calibration of equipment, systems and processes.
  • Communicate data, issues and opportunities related to assigned work center and assist others in doing so appropriately. Typically communicates with key customer directly.
  • Meet or exceed all performance goals and expectations.


To Be Successful You Will Have
  • Good organizational and prioritization skills - Self-managing
  • AS degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience
  • Mechanically inclined - work on motors, cars etc. either as work or hobby
  • Ability to write process documentation
  • Ability to communicate effectively with managers, employees and customers.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Perform intermediate math skills
  • Initiative to learn and develop new skills
  • Work effectively as an individual or in a team environment
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
