Product Stewards help HP teams to improve product performance, measure progress and communicate results to customers, HP management and other stakeholders. This position enables HP existing and growth businesses to pursue new markets and product categories from a regulatory compliance and market access standpoint. Understanding the requirements and implementing product stewardship for these new markets supports HP's business revenue growth.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review and maintenance of compliance files for commercialized supplies products
  • Review existing documentation for accuracy
  • Update documents to latest standards
  • Quality control of documents and deliverables to ensure consistency, content, and compliance within HP Lead expectations
  • Hazard classification changes and ink reformulation impacts
  • Monitor classification changes as a result of inputs and advice from Regulatory Managers (country regulations), HP leads, and suppliers
  • Monitor classification changes as a result of lab test results and/or ink formulation changes
  • Identify impacts to HPI's ink formations and classifications
  • Summarize the impacts and next steps as needed
  • Ensure current products meet regulatory and market access requirements throughout product changes and new or updated requirements
  • Work with R&D throughout the Product Development Process to ensure new products meet regulatory and market access requirements
  • Respond to inquiries and support internal partner requests for customer information
  • Support the development and improvement of Product Stewardship processes and tools
  • Drive Product Sustainability through efforts with R&D, Marketing and the Sustainability Team for products and businesses
  • Utilize chemistry knowledge and expertise to compile and update team with chemical substance hazard classifications, risk assessments, and toxicological endpoints on an as-needed basis


  • Ideal attributes of the candidate:
    • Chemistry education or experience; ideally possesses a BS in Chemistry or Toxicology (as a major or minor)
    • Experience with M/S Office tools, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word
    • Experience with SharePoint, OneDrive and other personal efficiency and productivity tools
    • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to independently problem-solve

    The candidate must:
    • Comply with all Confidentiality Agreements; follow all access policies and related restrictions to HP's tools
    • Product timely, accurate and high-quality work output
    • Have the ability and desire to work in a very dynamic work environment, with frequent communications across functions and regions, with an understanding of cultural diversity
    • Have the ability to organize and plan daily work, with minimal supervision and direction
    • Have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely; be able to organize and present information in a clear and concise fashion, as needed or requested by the HP Leads
    • Be available for work on a consistent basis, 40 hours per week.
