Life Science/COA - Senior Strategic Language Lead

Position Overview:

The Senior Strategic Language Lead oversees language strategy for accounts within the COA Line of Service, accountable for end-to-end language quality assurance and strategic oversight. In this role, you will advise on and execute operational elements of projects and initiatives, ensuring best practices are created and maintained on assigned account and domain activities. This role will be a key member of our Life Sciences team, working with internal and external stakeholders and will be focused primarily on the localization process of Clinical Outcome Assessments {COA} and electronic Clinical Outcome Assessments {eCOA}. The right individual is a proven leader, mentor, and role model to other team members.

What you will do:
  • Be the first escalation point for the production team to resolve linguistic issues and queries, tracks and analyzes language quality data for the assigned accounts and domain.
  • Share actively with Life Sciences linguists and other Language Leads new information / knowledge learned on COA Line of Service and is an active participant in language, quality and account team meetings and initiatives.
  • Actively engage in training and mentoring programs for new team members globally on language and COA specialization matters.
  • Oversee a wide array of accounts within the COA Line of Service; ability to reach the optimum productivity and quality standards by always scrutinizing existing workflows.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain scalable translation and linguistic quality assurance processes, language asset strategy and documentation.
  • Drive the successful analysis and continuous improvement planning for customer complaints and audit findings.
  • When necessary, perform core Language Lead tasks on assigned accounts, such as targeted analysis, linguistic strategy and process definition, research, documentation, quality management / assurance and reporting, and others as defined by the Life Sciences business unit.
  • Have the ability to make a client presentation or discuss linguistic matters with the client as the language and COA Line of Service specialization expert.
  • Actively cooperate with the Operational Readiness Team and / or Onboarding Team in the cross-departmental onboarding process of new clients.
  • Have a shared but limited responsibility for the financial health of assigned accounts, be aware of the financial state of the accounts and pro-actively take steps to improve margins and lower internal costs.

What you will have to be successful:
  • 5-10+ Years of professional experience in translation/localization or related fields
  • Experience with Life Sciences (COA domain)
  • A degree in translation, linguistics, or related field preferred
  • Experience in localization training and team coordination preferred
  • Outstanding communication, customer service and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of Localization processes, CAT tools, TM Maintenance, and Terminology management processes strongly preferred
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, and near native fluency in a second language strongly preferred
  • High attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Ability to commit to a culture of excellence and interest in continuous improvement in a multicultural environment
