Job Description

Responsible for the language quality of projects. Overall management of the linguistic aspects of projects to understand customer needs and provide services accordingly. Projects are not limited to a single language (English, Japanese or English), but may include multiple languages.

Job Description

Linguistic analysis and validation. Checking/researching references, examining the difficulty and trends in the source text and possible problems.

Assigning language resources. Select the most appropriate internal/external resources and proactively communicate with the project manager and vendor management to assign resources. Provide training to vendors as needed.

Plan for the language process. Select the most appropriate tools and plan the execution of the language process within the budget.

Word count and pre-processing. Select appropriate TMs and do word counts. Preprocessing of files prepared by engineers and DTP, including pre-translation.

Create translation kits and handle handoff/handback with vendors. Create translation kits for vendors and handoff to vendors. Handle vendor handoffs

Communicate with customers and vendors Communicate directly with customers and vendors on language issues to resolve issues

Managing the language process Manages all language processes, including translation and review (QA), as well as query and file management. For multilingual projects, organize queries and return required answers to the language department in a timely manner.

Conducts LQI's and provides feedback to translators to encourage quality improvement.

Vendor quality improvement support. Work with PMs and VMs to perform QARs to support vendor quality improvement in case of translation quality issues.

TM maintenance and maintenance of reference materials. maintenance of TMs and maintenance of reference materials such as glossaries, etc. to prepare for upcoming projects.
