Utilizes fundamentals of drafting and design, and CAD skills to create new or revised concepts/designs/models and final design drawings. Ability to use ANSYS tools for Modal Analysis and FEA.
GOALS:
Create designs and drawings that meet or exceed client's requirements.
Maintain a 95% average on-time completion of assigned tasks - on time.
Complete assigned tasks within quoted hours - on budget.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to layout and design parts that meet client's project goals and objectives.
Creates 3-D concept and part models and assemblies by applying established drafting, design and engineering standards and practices.
Must have knowledge/understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
Responsible for drawing accuracy and clarity, including compliance with client's standards and specifications, part name and CAD file organization.
Applies proper dimensioning and tolerance principles and GD&T to define allowable variation of parts and assemblies.
Applies knowledge of views, sections, weld symbols and information drawing notes pertaining to materials, plating, heat treat, etc., and functional part dimensioning standard ASME Y14.5M and/or DOD-100.
Understands and applies project lifecycle requirements, including: project commitment dates, budget and quality objectives, and project documentation.
Fills out all company documents such as timesheets, job-tracking logs, job notes database, traveler, checklists and gathers/records information from projects timely and accurately.
Participates in client and internal design reviews.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :
BSME or MSME, related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
User Knowledge/Experience with Creo-4 and ANSYS very desirable.
Must be US Citizen or permanent resident
Communication SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple technical and informative correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization
