The Quality Manager is an expert and process manager role within the Warsaw Language Services Group. A key member of one or several account teams, the Quality Manager is responsible for the creation, implementation, development, and oversight of the language quality plans and strategies for accounts and account portfolios.
This is a client-facing role in which the Quality Manager works closely with language teams, account owners, and the group leadership. This position does not have direct reports.


Responsibilities:
  • Own the management of overall linguistic quality for all languages on the account or account portfolio;
  • Act as the main interface for any quality and process matters between the client(s) and the account teams;
  • Develop, implement and maintain quality plans and strategies in accordance with client and Lionbridge requirements, mindful of cost considerations and constraints, if any;
  • Analyze processes, identify risks, prepare action plans and suggest solutions to account teams;
  • Seek quality improvements, and knowledge retention;
  • Work closely with the Community Management team and the Project Management team to define, apply and maintain client-specific vendor models to ensure resource alignment with account and content requirements, with Quality@Source and cost management in mind;
  • Monitor and control the overall performance of translation and other resources from a service point of view, engaging with the Project Management and Community Management teams as required;
  • Support account teams with knowledge and advice when it comes to RFIs, RFQs, tenders, and test translations stage; advise on process and resourcing models;
  • Analyze quality issues and complaints to determine further actions through Root Cause Analysis (RCA);
  • Actively participate in quality calls and meetings (QBRs, etc.) with account teams, vendors, and/or clients; report on quality trends and action plans;
  • Create and maintain process and quality documentation;
  • Work with other functions to define account-specific processes and help to identify tools to support translation and reporting needs.


Requirements:
  • College degree or similar in relevant field;
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in language leading or quality management and/or team leading roles;
  • Fluent English (both written and spoken, in a wide range of registers), additional language(s) will be considered as an asset;
  • Excellent computer literacy skills, including solid knowledge of MS Office suite, and Lionbridge tools: Translation Workspace, LTB, TMS, Freeway, etc. Knowledge of other CAT tools and Translation Management Systems systems will be considered as an asset.
  • Experience in financial management and budgeting to account specific requirements would be a plus as would be knowledge of tools to manage metrics, reports and cost calculations;
  • Good understanding of Machine Translation (MT) and MT Post-Editing concepts, tools and processes would be a plus;
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with internal teams and clients, which includes writing high-level client facing and internal reports, and creating and delivering solid client presentations;
  • Results-driven work ethic. Initiative, proactivity, creativity, plus troubleshooting skills;
  • Team player and "can do" attitude;
  • Ability to analyze the way we do things and challenge the status quo coupled with strong inclination to standardize, optimize, automate, and facilitate, especially with the use of technology.
