Lionbridge are now looking for a Project Manager, to join their team in Barnoldswick, Lancashire. This role will also cover sites in the North East of England, and Scotland, as required.

The Project Manager Data Collection role supports a rapidly expanding Global Content and Engineering business, overseeing part of a global programme serving a large aerospace client.

+ The Data Collection and Analysis teams provide engineering data analysis deliverables for the aerospace and manufacturing industries.
Job duties
Development and On-Going Management of Relationships with Key Partners and Stakeholders

Identification and Provision of Resources re: Contract Delivery

Remote and Local Line Management of Data Collection team

Project Planning & Identification of Job Opportunities

Drive Increased Efficiencies and Process Improvement

RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)

+ Identify opportunities and methods to grow the Lionbridge business, increase Revenue and further develop Strategic Partner relationships

+ Analysis of work processes, systems, organisational functions and structures to determine where and how to best generate measurable benefits

+ Have primary oversight, management and accountability for local client relationships

+ Remote and local management of a team of 20+ Lionbridge employees, including responsibility for utilisation, productivity and performance

+ Undertaking of programme management tasks, including management of schedules, deliverables, quality and financial performance

+ Engage and work with other Lionbridge and customer operational teams to manage effectively and share best practise

PROJECT MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Delivery of all tasks to Service Level Agreement (SLA)/Contract

+ Achievement and reporting of On Time Delivery

+ Achievement and reporting of Right First Time

+ Achievement and reporting of commercial position of project group (GM/Spend/Income/Capex/Expenses vs Projection)

+ Identification and provision of resources to achieve contract delivery

+ Regular communication with Engineering Data Collector, Team Leader, ensuring timely escalation or management of business/HR issues raised by them

+ Regular communication with Customer Point of Contact (PoC) ensuring timely escalation or management of issues raised by them

+ Regular communication with the Operations Manager, Technical Authoring, ensuring timely cascade and delegation of business instructions/actions

+ Drive accurate timesheet entry by team members, understanding the commercial impact of failure to achieve this on a daily basis. Ensure that the Engineering Data Collector, Team Leaders monitor this on a daily basis and that weekly reports capture and address errors

+ Approve timesheets for team members having checked and confirmed that they are correctly completed and accurate

+ Drive the activities detailed in the Engineering Data Collector, Team Leader job profile, paying particular attention to critical actions

+ Produce and maintain a project plan which matches the 'Scheduling Tool' (TBD) with regards to planned activities and capture of emergent work, feeding into Resource review and commercial projections

+ Drive increased efficiency and reduce cost of sales for Lionbridge

+ Implement Continuous Improvement initiatives - locally or as recommended by Process Improvement Manager

+ Undertake formal daily progress review meetings with Engineering Data Collector, Team Leaders - on-site or remotely as appropriate

+ Attend and participate in weekly peer review of all aspects of projects - chaired by Operations Manager, Technical Authoring

+ Attend/contribute to monthly Project Review meetings with Operations Manager, Technical Authoring/Senior Management as required

+ Work with client stakeholders to identify requirements

+ Support recruitment activities - chairing or second-chairing competency interviews as required

+ Manage the utilisation of Data Collectors/Analysts, assigning them to project tasks where necessary

+ Report project activities clearly, effectively and in a way that is consistent with other areas of the business

+ Identify Process Improvements to drive efficiency and enable cost savings for the customer and/or Lionbridge

+ Communicate effectively and efficiently with the customer and senior Management, reporting on team progress and productivity via a weekly peer/project review

+ Identify and enable opportunities for taking on core work from the customer and expanding opportunities for revenue generating team members

Education/experience

+Preference for qualifications in a relevant technical discipline e.g. Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (Degree, HND in Engineering related subject) would be advantageous

+ Project Management Qualification (PRINCE 2, PMP, Six-Sigma) or equivalent experience

+ Relevant project management experience in aerospace, automotive or manufacturing environment preferred, but not essential

+ Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other manufacturing statistical control methodologies - desirable

+ Previous experience of implementing Continuous Improvement Initiatives and driving efficiencies/cost reductions - desirable

Knowledge, skills and abilities
+ Demonstrated project management competencies

+ Demonstrated competence re: capacity and ability to work with a team planning releases, publishing roadmaps and rallying development teams to meet milestones and/or SLAs

+ Demonstrated competence re: process change and evidence of previous success with change management

+ Proven ability and competence re: adherence to deadlines and successful independent project completion

+ Proven competence re: successful management of costs and budgets

+ Demonstrated competence and success re: team management - preferably 20+ staff

+ Ability to lead by example, enabling teams to consistently deliver, even when based and managed remotely

+ Proven ability and evidence of operational competence including: revenue generation from customers; understanding of year to date progress; owning of targets; understanding of where personal and business targets sit in relation to achieving larger Strategic plans

+ Demonstrated ability and success re: working with and meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), particularly in the areas of product quality, delivery and budgets

+ Ability to manage productions teams (locally and remotely) as well as customer relationships and key stakeholders

+ Evidence of strong people management skills, including the ability to motivate, coach and grow a team - including the setting of stretching but achievable objectives for self and team members

+ Excellent resource management and communication (written and verbal) skills

+ Willing to travel up to 20% of work time in the UK - Northern region

+ Must have driving licence
