Job Purpose

The materials coordinator oversees the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials for the Reliability Assurance Lab. The material coordinator acts as the liaison between Lionbridge and HP in the materials function requiring a higher level of customer systems access.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Determines Material Requirements
    • Reviews production schedules and related information and confers with department supervisors to determine material requirements.
    • Adjusts stock in line based on changing demand signals to minimize impact of too little, or too much material.
  • Requisitions Material and Organizes Deliveries
    • Coordinates and expedites the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between sections or departments, according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities.
    • Provides communication to factory, supervisors, engineers, warehouse, buyers & client.
    • Receives parts for the factory and engineers
    • Coordinate with engineers for special build supplies
    • Prepares engineering materials for shipping: Raw material pull and delivery based on requests.
    • Prepares engineering materials for machining.
    • Moves or transports materials from one department to another, manually or using material handling equipment.
    • Manages adhesive stocking program.
      • Manages silver bullet process
    • Coordinate pallet pulls from the warehouse when issues arise with materials
    • Coordinates and tracks shipments.
  • Inventory Management
    • Ensures materials are stored in an effective, efficient, safe and stable fashion.
    • Keeps Parts Market inventory stocked and organized per factory schedule.
    • Troubleshoots bad incoming material to decide if it should be scrapped or blue lined; then inform the engineer and buyer.
    • Oversees and participates in the blue line process.
    • Oversees inventory levels to ensure adequate stock at all times. Communicates issues and works to resolution on late, outdated or excessive levels of materials.
    • Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records, such as material inventory, in process production reports, and status and location of materials.
    • Performs as the LB Inventory Audit Coordinator during factory floor materials audits performed by HP.
    • Troubleshoots discrepancies between actual inventory and recorded inventory.
    • Assists and troubleshoots with incoming material inspection team.


Basic Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of inventory management in a manufacturing or testing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem solver with ability to deal with changing circumstances.
  • Highly organized with excellent computer, tracking systems and information management skills.
  • Ability to be calm under pressure providing clarity to chaos.
  • Strong leadership and training ability.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ Months Prior experience working with inventory management and parts tracking
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills


Working Conditions

  • Swing Shift (3:00 PM to 10:30 PM)
  • Must be able to sit and use computer for extended time periods
  • Ability to lift at least 15 pounds
  • Repetitive hand tasks required
  • Ability to interact with various persons professionally and positively
