Lionbridge (www.lionbridge.com) is currently looking for a strong German linguist (m/f/d)to be based in our office to fill an in-house Lead Linguist (m/f/d) and editor (m/f/d) position for one of the world's most recognized technology companies specializing in online advertising technologies, search, & cloud computing.

Lead Linguist (m/f/d)

The Lead Linguist (m/f/d) should have a strong working knowledge of localization process and tools, with experience driving initiatives in a collaborative and high expectation environment. Candidate (m/f/d)must be committed to skillfully articulating the voice of the customer while providing leadership and mentoring to other linguists to drive consistent tone and highest language quality. Self-motivation, meticulousness, and focus on continuous improvement are vital. The Lead Linguist (m/f/d)must demonstrate strong independent thinking as well as flexibility to successfully evolve the language style based on customer direction.
Requirements
• Experienced Marketing translator
• Self-motivated & enthusiastic about meticulously crafting, evolving and executing the voice of the customer
• Marketing, transcreation or copywriting experience
• Digital literacy: savvy user of eCommerce and familiarity with digital marketing content incl. Social Media
• Significant and specific industry knowledge of Advertising products and the advertising space.
• Adaptability: Able to be flexible and comfortable in challenging technical environments
• Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to support and bring the best out of language team colleagues
• Commitment and passion for language and driving consistent high quality

Your responsibilities
• Own the final quality of Marketing translation for our Customers
• Establish and maintain strong and collaborative working relationship with client's language counterparts.
• Provide mentoring and leadership to the Lionbridge translation team via meetings and discussions to optimize execution of quality, customer voice, and process.
• Effectively drive and communicate evolving customer requirements and priorities to all internal stakeholders to unify the style, tone, and quality across the language team.
• Analyze and develop improvement plans based on review audits and proactive quality monitoring of translation team.
• Demonstrate thought leadership to identify language trends and areas for improvement; including subsequently devising and rolling out initiatives to effectively resolve quality issues.
• Schedule and coordinate regular calls/meetings with the client's representative and with (representatives of) the translation teams.
• Organize and lead training sessions for translation teams on style requirements, terminology changes and other linguistic matters.
• Actively participate in improving processes and tools for achieving language quality goals.
• Monitor activity, performance and responsiveness of the translation teams.
• Pro-actively inform Lionbridge Project Team of any emerging quality issues; advise on necessary translator-team adjustments.

Your profile
• Native speaker of German
• Fluent, near-native knowledge of English
• Strong linguistic background: University degree in Translation, Linguistics, Communication, Journalism or Marketing/Advertising
• Experience on marketing end user campaigns
• Strong linguistic skills: ability to resolve potential discrepancies and language and terminology issues, to perform language quality controls and provide feedback to translators, as well as to participate in the creation/improvement of project language processes
• At least 3+ years of professional experience as translator and editor, plus previous experience as Language Coordinator/Lead Linguist
• Strong communication skills: able to lead meetings and to interact with the customer, the Lionbridge team and the linguistic community
• Strong coaching/mentorship skills: be able to identify areas to improve and to provide constructive feedback in order to improve performance of the team
• Strong knowledge of CAT tools and ability to quickly learn new ones
