Fraud Detection Analyst (Ballina, Ireland) Position Description:

If you are interested in using your skills to prevent bad actors gaining access to our community then this role will be suitable for you. Join our rapidly growing AI business where you conduct investigations that identify and remove malicious and fraudulent people from our community. You will be an integral member of a team where you will work with analysts, investigators and other specialists conducting complex investigations of fraud activity. You will aid in identifying new and emerging fraud threats through data extraction and analysis, as well as consumption of the latest threats through online resources &reports.

You will use your analytical and data skills to review data linked to fraud activity and help drive complex investigations and investigative strategies. You will of keep up to date with the latest trends and fraud issues impacting our business to ensure we are identifying, migrating and preventing fraud attacks.

  • Centralising data into case files to enable analysis and investigations to take place
  • Work with cross-functional teams within the business to identify relevant sources for data collection and analysis, that can assist in decision making
  • Conducting deep dive investigations into suspect community activity building case files on individuals and making judgements based on patterns found
  • Identify new & emerging patterns of fraud and make recommendations for new processes or controls that improved monitoring
  • Take on ad-hoc projects/assignments related fraud investigations/prosecutions as necessary
  • Actively identify any gaps through evaluating information and actively research solutions that could assist in combating these gaps.

Technical Skills & Expectations

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in an analytical field - e.g. Economics, Operations, Mathematics, Statistics
  • Two years professional experience analysing and interpreting data
  • Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible in responding to deadlines and workflow fluctuations
  • Ability to deal with high level of ambiguity
  • Good presentation skills and ability to present data analysis results in a coherent and easy to understand way.

Additional Requirements

Experience working within a compliance function within the Service industry an advantage.
