Financial Accountant

Financial Accountant - General Ledger - 15mth FTC based in Ireland

The role will suit a qualified accountant, with an excellent academic record and early career of accomplishment seeking a challenging role in a high-growth environment with excellent opportunities for advancement.

The role based in our EMEA Shared services headquarters will require energy, ability and attention to detail, and an appetite for developing broader business acumen and experience. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and energetic, willing to take on new tasks and work on own initiative, and to work effectively within a growing team & with cross functional colleagues.

What You Will Do:

• Revenue recognition process for some European entities
• Preparation and Input of journal entries including accruals, prepayments, cash and Inter-company
• Ensuring accurate and timely compilation of accounting information, analysis and reporting to include balance sheet, income statement and supporting analysis schedules
• Ensuring the completion of Balance Sheet reconciliations each month and the timely resolution of reconciling items.
• Liaise with European Accounting firms on tax issues and statutory reporting.
• Follow established treasury procedures to include cash management and weekly forecast and reporting to US parent company
• Monthly update of cash flow forecast and tax forecasts
• Liaising with both internal and external auditors during their audits and quarterly reviews and responding to their queries on a timely basis.
• Ability to prepare and analyse data and create reports for management.
• Preparation of annual statutory financial statements for certain European entities
• Prepare VAT returns and intrastate returns for European Entities.
• Advise and assist European Regional Director in any finance related issues or needs.
• Proposal and development of continuous improvements using lean tools to existing processes and procedures where appropriate.
• Complete statistical returns and assist in ad hoc projects which will arise on a regular basis

To Be Successful You Will Have:

• An Accounting Qualification - ACA/ ACCA.
• Good knowledge of Financial systems including proficiency in MS office.
• A broad knowledge of accounting and financial control principles and their business applications.
• Previous exposure to US GAAP or Accounting in a Multinational environment would be an advantage.
• Strong practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential.
• Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• Proactive and an organized self starter who can work as an individual contributor and as part of cross functional team.
• Good Communication skills, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail in performing accounting tasks.
• Be flexible with an enthusiastic attitude.
