Lionbridge is seeking a Data Architect to join our R&D team in a key role, providing architectural leadership in the areas of data modeling, data storage, integrations, BI, analytics, and data security. The architect will interpret business systems and workflows to design and deliver a flexible data foundation that will support systems integrations and a dynamic analytics environment.

Our Team

The Language AI Services team is building a platform, consisting of a suite of reusable and highly scalable microservices, for performing linguistic content processing and analysis, using applied AI, to enhance our localization process for customers, linguists, and operations staff.

We are not only building a product but designing an automated data-driven architecture that will encompasses our entire workflow from order to cash and everything in between.

To achieve this, we need to operate at a global scale by leveraging the latest in cloud infrastructure, AI, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to its fullest potential. We are leaders in innovation in the localization space.

Responsibilities:
  • Designing effective data models and data storage solutions to capture, organize, and normalize company data across systems;
  • Designing efficient data processing solutions that can both vertically and horizontally scale as our data and business grows;
  • Examining and identifying reporting data by evaluating business operations, processes, systems and applications;
  • Developing strategies for integrating data from various systems; limiting the need to access data that is too scattered to utilize efficiently;
  • Researching the latest technologies and techniques to provide innovative data storage and reporting solutions;
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to understand ongoing data requirements;
  • Implementing data classification solutions to enable monitoring and tracking of sensitive data;
  • Reducing manual data processing which results in heavy workloads, low accuracy, and poor security.


Requirements:
  • 4+ years' experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer or similar role;
  • Data management related background (mathematics, statistics, computer science or related field);
  • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements;
  • Understanding of information systems and data life-cycle management best practices and methodologies;
  • Experience with Service Oriented (SOA) and Microservice architecture, web services, enterprise data management, information security, applications development, and cloud-based architectures;
  • Experience with enterprise data management technologies, including database platforms, ETL tools, SQL (MS SQL Server), and NoSQL (Cosmos, Cassandra, MongoDB);
  • In-depth understanding of database structure principles;
  • Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques;
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodology and concepts.

  • Ability to compile and organize statistical information retrieved and present findings to management;
  • Be confident in decision making and having the ability to explain complex problems or processes;
  • Creative problem-solver with strong communication skills;
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities;
  • Proficiency in English.
