As Build Engineer you will take accountability for maintenance of builds and implementation of tooling while working in a small Software Development Team built from scratch in our Games Testing Department.

Build Engineer (BE) is a specialist technical role at Lionbridge Games. BE works with the Customer's support, product or QA teams and support them in maintaining builds lifecycle. The role is intendent to work in shifts, covering 24 hours support, and work during weekends, providing support on Saturdays and Sundays. Build Engineer is expected to identify build issue, resolve it or escalate to appropriate person for issue resolution. On top of maintenance duty Build Engineer is working with tooling, identifying needs and implementing code enabling automation.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish processes and tools to maintain code base integrity, including check-in validation rules and branch/merge processes;
  • Debug and analyze build failures, identify the root cause, and find ways to resolve it;
  • Build, maintain and continuously improve an infrastructure for developer productivity pipeline team including: source code repository, build tools and scripts, continuous integration infrastructure, packaging and deployment tools;
  • Establish and maintain agile development toolset, e.g., Azure DevOps (formerly VSTS);
  • Establish processes and tools to maintain code base integrity, including check-in validation rules and branch/merge processes.


Requirements:
  • 2+ years of relevant experience;
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience;
  • Source control: Azure DevOps (formerly VSTS) , GIT (common uses and methods);
  • Health/service monitoring systems (SCOM, OMS, Citrix, etc);
  • Helpdesk style ticketing systems (IcM, Techease, Zendesk, etc);
  • Experience and practical knowledge of CMD batch scripting, Perl, and PowerShell;
  • Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly and adapt under pressure;
  • Understanding software development lifecycle;
  • Understanding the basics of a compiler and how commercial software is built (MSBuild, Maven, etc);
  • Experience in analyzing error logs;
  • Experience and practical knowledge in reading and understanding C++, C#, XAML, HTML, Perl, PowerShell, Msbuild, VSBuild, SQL queries, project files;
  • Experience and practical knowledge in understanding system event logs and basic enterprise networking flow;
  • Fluency in English;
  • Very good interpersonal skills (presentation and written communication skills are essential to build partnerships across offices around the world);
  • Creativity, efficiency, attention to detail.


Not required, but would be an asset:
  • Professional coding experience in other programming language would be an asset;
  • Knowlesge of test automation frameworks like Selenium or Appium;
  • Major consoles devkits experience;
  • Experience in game development lifecycle.
