Job Title: Associate Language Lead

Department: Language Services

Reports To: Language Services Group Manager


  • Engages through the project lifecycle and final delivery.
  • Analyzes source text, assesses any language related issues before project start, puts together the linguistic portion of the translation packages.
  • Takes care of the maintenance of glossaries, TMs, updates, linguistic checks (using CAT tools, e.g., Linguistic Toolbox), and performs spot check on the files to check compliance of the delivered translations.
  • May also perform translation, editing, proofreading and/or linguistic testing in their native language.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform small linguistic tasks such as translation, editing, proofreading, linguistic testing, on an as needed basis.
  • Analyze source project files and prepare instructions for external translation partners.
  • Maintain linguistic assets, such as glossary creation, update, upload, cleanup and conversion, TM maintenance, and LTB rules.
  • Perform Quality Control steps: Spot checks files to ensure that they comply with the project's instructions, LLQA, etc.
  • Manage linguistic issues and queries.
  • Promptly notify manager about any problems that affect your ability to accomplish planned goals.
  • Demonstrate honesty, keep commitments, and behave in a consistent and ethical manner - abiding by all Lionbridge policies.
  • Be compliant with LQI Triggers and create LQI form as required to evaluate partners when needed.

  • College Degree (Bachelor's degree or higher) in Linguistics, Translation, or localization-related domain.
  • Professional experience in translation or related fields is desired.
  • Native fluency in 1+ non-English language(s).
  • Basic Knowledge of Localization Processes, Translation Memory tools, Terminology management processes and computer-assisted translation software.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office applications.
