Name: Eva Fischer
I was born in Wuppertal and voluntarily decided to come back years ago, so I work and live in Wuppertal.
Operations Manager Wuppertal
How long have you been at Lionbridge?
I celebrated my 10th anniversary this spring.
What does a typical work day look like for you?
There is no typical work day – and I love the variety of tasks. For sure, lots of emails need to be answered every day, and lots of meetings are taking place daily, but also client meetings and calls, escalation issues, strategic decisions on how to reach our targets, GDPR, and many other topics belong to my working days.
What is your favorite place in your office?
Due to the extraordinary summer heat when I filled out this questionnaire, most likely our cellar
What is the best part of your job?
Making our clients happy each day and working closely together with so many of our great lions around the globe.
Fill in the blanks:
I speak 3 languages (list them!)
German, English, and French
My favorite local saying is ______, [and it means ______, if not English].
My favorite local saying is “Et kütt wie et kütt,” just because it is “Kölsch” and sounds very funny.
It means “What will be, will be” – but for sure it is always almost in our hands to change something!
A tourist visiting my city shouldn’t miss…
Taking a ride with the world-famous Schwebebahn, a suspended public transport system in Wuppertal
that has been a staple of the city for more than 100 years. If you ever wondered about the upside-down train emoji on your smartphone, it is the Wuppertaler Schwebebahn!
My coworkers would say my weirdest habit is…
Not a habit, but it is all about timing: “you’re not you when you’re hungry.”
Outside of work, I always make time for…
Family time. My husband, our son, and our dog enjoy short breaks, longer trips, and just having fun together!
My hidden talent is…
…definitely not singing – but maybe someone will be able to find my (still) hidden talent.
Schalke 04 being the German Soccer League Champion makes me roar. (I have to admit that this might not happen someday).
